Dial-by-Name Directory

Sign Up NowClients and customers can be assured of reaching the proper person, even at the largest of companies. With the convenience of the dial-by-name directory, callers can reach their party’s extension directly without intervention of a third-party.

The benefits having a Dial-By-Name Directory include:

  • Name-Based System – Each employee maintains an extension based on their name, making it easy for callers to find the correct extension number in the directory.
  • Full Directory - Callers have access to the full company directory using a simple keypad entry or voice command.
  • Easy Transfer – Callers simply enter a few letters of the name of the extension holder to reach that extension. Calls are promptly directed to the proper party upon entry of extension holder’s name.
  • Automatic Redirection –Any prompts that go unanswered are transferred to the company operator.

Callers can access the Dial-by-Name directory using the automated phone system. If the caller knows the first or last name of the party they are trying to reach, they will be prompted to enter the numerical equivalent on their telephone’s keypad.

If the caller does not know the extension number, they can access and listen to the entire company directory of names and extension numbers. The list will be available in alphabetical order based on the extension holder’s name. Calls to the extension will be automatically redirected.

When prompted, callers dial the numeric equivalent of the first or last name of the extension holder. Callers will hear all matching extension holder names and numbers. The caller will then be asked to confirm the name of the party they wish to reach by dialing the appropriate extension number when given by the automated attendant. The caller will be automatically connected to the proper extension once it has been entered.

Should an invalid extension number be entered, the caller will be prompted with a automated message of the invalid information and prompted to re-enter the information. If the caller is not able to enter a valid extension code, the call will be transferred to the company’s operator.

Toll free phone numbers, also referred to as "800 numbers", are special telephone numbers that the person being called pays for the cost of the call. Even if the caller is calling from outside the local calling area, the person receiving the call will pay for all calls made to the toll free number. The amount of money the toll free phone number owner pays depends on where the toll free number was obtained, and how much use the toll free number receives.

The majority of toll free number services work like this: the caller dials the toll free number. The phone call is forwarded to a phone number of the owner of the toll free number's choice, and then the owner pays for the call.

Toll free numbers may start with 800, 888, 877, or 866 - with future growth to include toll free number prefixes of 855, 844, 833 and 822.
